It's really early in the morning ... well, I guess not early, but it's 10:30 and I'm sitting here buck naked eating cereal while watching Spongebob. Minus the naked part.
But before I started watching Spongebob I read my latest chapter of Hill Harper's book. In it he says, "For the past thirty-three years, every morning Steve Jobs gets up, looks in the mirror, and asks himself, 'If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I'm about to do today?' If there were a bunch of mornings in a row where the answer was, 'No,' then he knew he had to change what he was doing.
So that made one of those proverbial light bulbs turn on above my head. I have to do something I love so much, that I wouldn't want to quit. There's something in each of our lives that holds us back from realizing our true destiny. And as I write this, I can see the correlation between this and Heroes, but nvm that. I'm thinking that man, I know what I love ... but I DON'T know what's holding me back! What a connundrum. And the more I think about it, maybe I DON'T know what I love. So I get all of these questions in my head and I get mixed up and just lay on the couch and rub my head.
The best thing is that I don't necessarily have to know what it is I love right now. It'd be helpful, but I'm growing right? Hill Harper says, "Your mind is supposed to change." We'll have new views and perspectives on things. I know that sometimes "I" feel locked in on things. Like, once I'm doing this or w/e, I'm stuck. Heck, I feel that way about girls.
So you know how books have that thing where they tell you to ask yourself a question? Lol, well it did: What in your life do you want to change your mind about? Write I down; then, let's make some changes in that area that you just wrote about, starting today.
I'm going to go do that and it'll be the header for my next blog or whatnot. And you should share with me yours, in the comments or at dumb_fly@tmail.com. I think seeing others may give ME ideas. :]
Think. Act. Be.
OH. I almost forgot the say good luck to my own Mizzou Tigers. Ranked #6, and battling Illinois tonight!
